Delete your Insly Go account
Last updated 7 September 2026
You can delete your Insly Go account and the personal data attached to it at any time. Here is exactly what happens, and how to do it.
Delete it yourself, in the app
This is the fastest route and takes effect immediately.
- Open Insly Go or Insly Go Driver.
- Go to the Account tab.
- Under Danger zone, tap Delete account.
- Read what will be removed, type DELETE to confirm, and tap Delete my account.
You will be signed out straight away. If you still have a job in progress, the app will ask you to finish or cancel it first — money is held in escrow until a job resolves.
If you can’t sign in
Email [email protected] from the address on your account with the subject “Delete my Insly Go account”. We verify that the request is really yours and complete it within 30 days.
What is deleted
- Your name, phone number and saved profile details
- Your emergency contacts
- Your notifications and in-app messages
- For carriers and drivers: your carrier profile, your identity document and your verification selfie
- Your saved addresses and location history held by Insly Go
What we have to keep, and why
| What | How long | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Records of completed jobs, orders and payments — with your name and number removed | 5 years | South African tax and financial legislation requires it |
| A record that the account was deleted | Indefinitely | So the account cannot silently reappear, and so support can answer queries |
| A store listing, if you ran one — suspended and unlinked from you, not destroyed | Until the business asks us to remove it | The catalog belongs to the business, not to one person |
Nothing we keep identifies you directly. Handover PINs were only ever stored as a one-way hash, so there is nothing readable to delete.
Your Insly sign-in
Your Insly account is shared across Insly products. Deleting here removes everything Insly Go holds, but leaves the central Insly sign-in you use for other Insly services. To close that too, say so in your email to [email protected].
Can I undo it?
No. Deletion is permanent. You are welcome to sign up again afterwards, but nothing from the old account — ratings, history, carrier verification — carries over.
